The one-night showcase closes SpookyFest 2026 on Tuesday, November 3rd at The Hobgoblin Playhouse
LOS ANGELES, CA – Halloween may be over, but something is still out there – and this time, the audience decides what’s scariest. SpookyFest Film, the short-film showcase from The StageCrafts’ horror festival SpookyFest, screens ten short films on Tuesday, November 3, at The Hobgoblin Playhouse in Hollywood – and after each block, the audience votes to crown the winners live in the room.
The 7:00 PM program explores the darker side of humanity and beyond, spanning the supernatural, the psychological, and the cosmic: haunted rings and cursed books, a 1930s Hollywood murder that refuses to stay buried, a stop-motion nightmare starring dolls, a viral dance challenge gone wrong, and at least one date nobody should have gone on. General Admission is $15.
Tickets are available now at SpookyFestLA.com. SpookyFest Film screens at The Hobgoblin Playhouse, 1516 N. Gardner St., Los Angeles, CA 90046. (Ages 17+)
=== HOW IT WORKS ===
Unlike a typical screening, SpookyFest Film turns the audience into the jury. Attendees watch the curated block of short films, then cast their vote for Audience Choice. The winners are announced live before the night is out. Stick around, keep the lights off, and make your scream count.
=== THE FILMS ===
– Sardines – A group of cousins plays Sardines in a Can, unaware that something is hunting them in the dark.
– Deadication – An unsuspecting woman stumbles upon an antique book, only to discover that it opens a portal to a sinister past and unleashes an unspeakable evil.
– The Lido – Casey moves to Hollywood to pursue her dream of acting, but her sublet at The Lido apartment complex hides a secret linking her to the unsolved murder of a 1930s Hollywood starlet. Can she handle the visions from the past to solve the mystery today?
– Ron’s Night Out – Dating can be a dangerous ride.
– Dinner Date – The Lioness is dedicated to one goal: keeping her Lion happy. When dinner goes awry, she takes over the evening in order to please her love.
– BTS – Fifteen-year-old Ava Kozlov wants nothing more than to be a dance influencer – a dream at odds with parents who are busy demanding accountability from social media giants. When three mysterious women offer her a shortcut to stardom, all she has to do is complete a brand-new dance challenge at an abandoned, haunted location. But their motives may be more sinister than Ava realizes.
– A Bedtime Ballad – Sarah, a young girl living with schizophrenia, faces a chilling milestone: her first night alone. Her once-benign imaginary friend has twisted into something sinister, and as a reassuring phone call from her anxious mother unfolds, eerie phenomena begin to manifest. A childhood lullaby meant to soothe her inner demons may reveal that her companion is more than a figment of her imagination.
– Jenny – When a frustrated college senior finds a haunted ring, she must use her classmate’s spirit as a guide to solve her murder – confronting the dangers lurking around campus, and her own misconceptions, to avoid meeting the same fate.
– Take My Hand – A stop-motion short featuring dolls, about a little boy who finds an unlikely visitor inside his bed…
– 80% of Home Invasions Happen During the Day – After drinking hallucinogenic tea to escape her overbearing parents, a moody teenager is tormented by a masked serial killer who may or may not be real…
