The multiverse has spoken! MythicFest Film closed out MythicFest 2026 on September 15 at The Hobgoblin Playhouse with our audiences acting as jury, casting their votes live in the room after each themed blocks of short films. Add in our panel of judges, and we’ve got a full slate of winners to celebrate.
Group 1 – Sci-Fi & Fantasy
The night’s first surprise: a tie for Audience Choice, with Incandescence and Pocket Change splitting the crowd’s favor. Incandescence is a single-take real-time thriller that slides from friendly banter into pure horror when three neighbors can’t resist opening a mysterious bag.
Pocket Change strands a drifter and his seemingly worthless quarter at a blacked-out roadside diner, where that little coin turns out to be everyone’s only hope — with Emmy nominee Freddy Rodríguez (Six Feet Under) leading the cast.
Our judges gave their Selection to Wonderland, a grim reimagining of the Hatter’s tea party that puts horror veteran Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House) in the role of Alice.
Group 2 – Fan Films
The Fan Film block delivered a rare unanimous verdict: Wolfenstein: Echoes of Liberation swept Audience Choice, with the whole room rallying behind B.J. Blazkowicz’s action-packed stand against a Nazi-dominated world.
The judges named The Lady & The Hound their Selection, a bold, adventurous riff on a certain acclaimed HBO fantasy saga, following a noble warrior on the hunt for the lost heirs of a fallen house.
Huge congratulations to all our winners, and thank you to every filmmaker who brought their work to Hollywood, not to mention the audiences who showed up, watched closely, and made the calls. This is exactly what MythicFest Film is all about.
Up next, SpookyFest Film! Final submission deadline is September 23rd, with the screening on November 3rd.
Meanwhile, submissions are now open for MythicFest Film 2027! So go ahead and get your submission in and we’ll see you next year. 🎬
