Seven live productions and a short-film showcase run September 3-15 at The Hobgoblin Playhouse
LOS ANGELES, CA – The StageCrafts invites audiences into worlds of magic, mayhem, and the multiverse with MythicFest 2026, Hollywood’s genre-defying celebration of science fiction and fantasy on stage. Running September 3-15 at The Hobgoblin Playhouse in the heart of Hollywood, the festival brings together nine live productions – from award-winning sci-fi drama and world-premiere superhero anthologies to condensed Shakespeare, a cult dark comedy, and a Lord of the Rings show starring the audience – capped by MythicFest Film, a two-block short-film showcase where the audience votes on the winners.

Explore the world’s first live-stage superhero universe. This world-premiere anthology by T.W. Steward presents six original super short plays – featuring The Creature, the Silver Spirit, Knuckleball, the Guild of Executioners, and A.P.R.I.L. the Android. A weird little musical about grief. Written and performed by Midge Lema and directed by Riley Rose Critchlow, Bean vs. The Robots strands its heroine alone in a spaceship with her memories and a keyboard. Funny, wistful, and unlike anything else at the festival – for one performance only. (Ages 13+)
=== MYTHICFEST FILM ===
Twelve short films. Two screening blocks. One epic night – and you help pick the winners. MythicFest Film closes the festival on Tuesday, September 15. After each block, the audience votes and the winners are crowned live. Tickets are $10 per block or $15 for both – the most affordable ticket of the festival. (Ages 17+)

– Wolfenstein: Echoes of Liberation – B.J. Blazkowicz takes on a Nazi-dominated world in this action-packed gaming tribute.
– The Lady & The Hound – A noble Warrior is tasked with locating the lost heirs to a fallen house. Experience this riveting and intrepid adaptation from HBO’s acclaimed series about perilous upholstery.
– After The Adventure: Logan’s Heroes – A VH1-style “behind the scenes” mockumentary about what adventurers do when the adventure’s over. (Honorable Mention)
