The one-night showcase closes MythicFest 2026 on Tuesday, September 15, at The Hobgoblin Playhouse
LOS ANGELES, CA – The multiverse is waiting – and this time, the audience holds the gavel. MythicFest Film, the short-film showcase that closes The StageCrafts’ sci-fi and fantasy festival MythicFest 2026, screens twelve short films across two themed blocks on Tuesday, September 15, at The Hobgoblin Playhouse in Hollywood – and after each block, the audience votes to crown the winners live in the room.
The evening splits into a 7:00 PM Sci-Fi & Fantasy block and a 9:00 PM Fan Film block, spanning grounded genre drama, one-take horror, time-travel comedy, and love letters to Spider-Man, Wolfenstein, Marvel’s Heroes for Hire, and Game of Thrones. The 7PM block features recognizable screen talent, including Emmy-nominee Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under) and horror star Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of Hill House). Tickets are $10 per block or $15 for both – the most affordable ticket of the festival.

=== HOW IT WORKS ===
Unlike a typical screening, MythicFest Film turns the audience into the jury. Attendees watch a curated block of short films, then cast their votes – and the winners are announced live before the night is out. Come for one block or stay for both; a $15 pass covers the full slate of twelve films across the evening.
=== THE FILMS ===
7:00 PM – SCI-FI & FANTASY BLOCK
– Incandescence – Obi and JJ discover their neighbour, Dani, frozen outside their apartment door, with a mysterious bag next to her. When she wakes in a panic, she begs them not to open it, but curiosity wins. Shot in one unbroken take, Incandescence is a real-time descent from friendly banter into absolute horror.
– Pocket Change – When the power goes out at a roadside diner in the middle of nowhere, a mysterious drifter and his seemingly worthless quarter hold the key to saving everyone from a deadly threat. Starring Emmy-nominee Freddy Rodríguez (Six Feet Under).
– Emerald Horses: The Brave and The Wicked – After a knight from a fairy tale land is transported to our world, he makes a new life for himself until a powerful wizard comes to him with a warning about an ancient evil that threatens the princess of his home world. The knight must put on his armor once again and gather his courage to face this foe for their final battle.
– Wonderland – “Wonderland” is a grim reimagining of the Hatter’s tea party from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The film stars a 19-year-old horror veteran Lulu Wilson (The Haunting of the Hill House, Sharp Objects, Ouija: The Origin of Evil, Star Trek: Picard) in the iconic role of Alice.
– 3 Worlds 1 Modern Romance – Justin and Grace live three different lives but all of them tell a story about dating in the modern era.
– Operation: Tetherball – An event planner’s life is upended by two agents wielding a time-travel device. (Honorable Mention)
9:00 PM – FAN FILM BLOCK
– Spider-Man: Night Shift – After a relentless night of stopping crime, Peter Parker is pushed to his limits when one decision changes everything. Faced with two emergencies in opposite directions, Spider-Man must choose who to save and live with the consequences.
– Heroes For Hire ATL: Powerman – After his early release from prison, Carl Lucas “Luke” would go through a crisis of faith and identity. Intrigued by the superhuman abilities Luke gained from illegal prison testing, Mercedes “Misty” Knight would recruit him to investigate the murder of Medical CEO Wendall Rand.
– Wolfenstein: Echoes of Liberation – B.J. Blazkowicz takes on a Nazi-dominated world in this action-packed gaming tribute.
– The Lady & The Hound – A noble Warrior is tasked with locating the lost heirs to a fallen house. When she encounters a hardened young woman resembling her quarry accompanying a notorious cutthroat, action must be taken. Experience this riveting and intrepid adaptation from HBO’s acclaimed series about perilous upholstery.
– After The Adventure: Logan’s Heroes – A VH1-style “behind the scenes” mockumentary about what adventurers do when the adventure’s over. (Honorable Mention)
