How are you faring, L.A.? This weekend was a rare exciting weather weekend here, and there’s more on the way.

Other than mopping a little water that was blown into our loading dock (got to love that sideways rain!) we managed to stay pretty dry, which is great because it was a busy weekend over here!

Congratulations to the team behind Arizona Rain!

Despite the rain and snow(!!) ARIZONA RAIN had a great sold out weekend! Congrats to the whole cast and crew – Playwright/Director Mandy Rubeli, Co-Producer/Stage Manager Linnea Gardner and actors Jordan Crites, Allie Rothfield, Faith Saporito and Silas Vaughn! We can’t wait to see what else these artists will bring to the stages of LA.

So we have to ask – was this weather in LA this weekend just ingenious marketing on their part, or nah?

Jenn and Greg in the booth at studio/stage back when it was clean. Sort of.

Us in the booth at studio/stage during Hollywood Fringe 2022, when it was last clean and organized. Sort of.

This week is all about preparation in our spaces – rehearsals, meetings, and planning ahead!

We’re booked with Improv rehearsals by groups from The Pack Theater, who has ongoing shows at The Broadwater, various play rehearsals, and meetings for Evryman Hollywood Tuesday and Wednesday night.

With so much coming up on the horizon, that means we’re also making the time to do some major maintenance in our spaces over the next few weeks. This week Greg and I are planning on cleaning and reorganizing the booth at studio/stage, as well as some other, smaller projects we’ve been wanting to do for a while now. And we’ll probably document it all on our Instagram. We shall see.

Speaking of Fringe!

Hollywood Fringe Festival Logo 2023We’ve been doing lots of tours in all our venues for The Hollywood Fringe Festival in June. studio/stage is more than half sold out, and The Madnani and Howard Fine Acting Studio have lots of interest as well! Check out the venue pages on the Hollywood Fringe site and send us an application if you’d like more info about Fringing in our venues. It’s our favorite time of year, and we love helping new producers. Check the links below to see our venue pages on the Hollywood Fringe site:

Coming Soon

Miranda is watching you.

Soon.

We have so many things in the works! Here’s a quick rundown of what March will bring:

  • A screening of a new Short Film at studio/stage
  • A music video shoot at studio/stage
  • A new Bible Study group at Howard Fine Acting Studio
  • Greg’s widely popular How To Self-Produce Workshop for Playwrights and Actors on March 11th
  • The official ribbon cutting and opening of The Madnani Theater on March 13th
  • Jessica Lynn Johnson and Heather Dowling’s Soaring Solo Workshop at The Madnani Theater on March 18th
  • SkyPilot Theatre Company opens a One-Act Festival at studio/stage on March 23rd!

Also, we’ve got something big in the works. Well, two big things in the works. Two really big things. But one’s going to happen a lot sooner than the other. Like this month soon. So stay tuned!

Bring it on, March!
